legends never die
Legends Never Die Skate Jam at Parisite DIY Skatepark in New Orleans, LA. The event was a memorial/fundraiser in David Magee’s honor, for improvements at the skatepark he loved so dearly.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID MAGEE 🕊️
When we first started reaching out to everyone with the support from his mom (Ms. Tasha), this was just an idea rooted in wanting to do something meaningful for David.
We hit up @humiditynola about the memorial shirts for the fundraiser to give back to @parisite_diy as a gift from David, @aerocraftsclothing_ceo, @fungshwayy_duc3_tr3y , & @kingxcloudxkicker about putting together a Skate Jam, and even reached out to @tomahawkskateshop to send prizes for the contests.
Seeing those conversations turn into what we experienced was absolutely beautiful.
The skate community welcomed us with open arms. Seeing everybody skate, laugh, share memories, support the fundraiser and show so much love to David’s life & legacy meant everything.
One of our favorite parts was seeing people who didn’t know David or his history asking, “Who was David?” and genuinely wanting to know his story.
That’s what keeping somebody’s legacy alive looks like.
People who never met him left knowing his name. 🕊️
David’s Legacy even made it to the news 💙
We also hope this inspires the youth to always feel free to be themselves & do what they love. Whether it’s to Skate, create, make music, make clothes, pick up a camera — whatever makes you feel FREE, do it. Continue spreading peace, positivity & love along the way.
Thank you to Humidity, Parisite DIY Skatepark, Beezo Duce, Johnny, Tomahawk Skate Shop, every skater, our family, & EVERYBODY who donated, bought a shirt, competed, helped or simply showed up. 💙💛
FOR THE HOMIE. FOR THE PARK. FOR THE CULTURE.
Long Live David. 🕊️
Because LEGENDS NEVER DIE.
